2026 AGA-Pfizer Beacon of Hope Awards for Gender and Health Equity (Applications close February 9, 2026.) 

The AGA-Pfizer Beacon of Hope Awards for Gender and Health Equity honor early to mid-career women in gastroenterology – physicians, scientists and advanced practice providers – who excel in promoting gender and health equity for patients and/or healthcare providers. This includes improving access to care for underserved communities, enhancing health literacy, increasing diversity in clinical trials, and advancing careers of women in GI.  Review the details, key dates, eligibility criteria, and nomination requirements at AGA Pfizer Beacon of Hope Awards website.

We will honor the recipients at the AGA Beacons of Hope Women’s Luncheon being held May 4, 2026, during Digestive Disease Week^® (DDW).

2026 AGA Abstract Awards (Applications open in November 2025.) 

The objective of these awards is to provide funds for AGA abstract presenters to attend DDW May 2-5, 2026 in Chicago, IL. AGA Leadership

Applications for AGA leadership, committees, course directors, and Council openings (Applications are under review.)

Make a difference in GI and help advance AGA's vision of ending the burden of digestive disease! By becoming involved, you will develop greater leadership skills and play a pivotal role in helping guide AGA's strategic direction. Terms begin in June 2026.

We welcome volunteers who bring diversity across all dimensions, including (but not limited to) gender, race and ethnicity, geography, sexual identity, practice setting, perspectives, and institution type. Learn more about key attributes and competencies of an effective governing board member.
